Noise Monitoring Programs



Airborne noise monitoring
Run by thePort of Melbourne Corporation, the objective of this monitoring is to ensure dredging operations comply with statutory airborne noise requirements. The Port of Melbourne Corporation is required to measure airborne noise levels during initial dredging operations in the Yarra River, Hobsons Bay and in locations where evening and night time limits may be exceeded.

Underwater noise monitoring
Run by thePort of Melbourne Corporation, the objective of this monitoring is to confirm hydrohammer and marine-based pile driving unit underwater noise levels are within the expected range. The Port of Melbourne Corporation is required to measure underwater noise levels during the initial operation of this equipment.
