Beach Monitoring Program
|
| Port Phillip Bay’s beaches support a wide range recreational and tourism activities. EPA Victoria’s expanded beach monitoring program provides the community with the most up-to-date information about water quality at 36 beaches around Port Phillip Bay.
The program includes testing for bacterial contamination (Enterococci), a range of metals, common organic chemicals (mainly pesticides) and algae at 36 beaches around the Bay.
The program concluded in early September 2009.
